We wanted to use this feature in our store, but we did not find any instructions on how to set up the product dependent options. Could you please guide us to where we can find more information or how to set up/import this feature?
5. NEW: Ability to create and configure product dependent options. For example, the store owner can configure product option Size:XXL to be available to the buyers only when they select Color:Red or Color:Blue.
Thank you. |

Ok, I will provide instructions, but please let me know:
Will you be using inventory control per option?
For example, if you sell a "Red" + "XXL" T-Shirt, should the system adjust the inventory level for the SKU corresponding to that particular product/option combination? |

Yes, we want to use the inventory control system, too. I'm not sure if we'll have exact quantity's for each option but I'll be sure to add some quantity to all of them.
Thank you! |

Here are the instructions on dependent options you requested.
If you would like to provide me the details of how options should work for your store for a particular product url, then I can be more specific.
Go to the SearchFit Control Panel | "Settings" tab | "Configure Per User" screen | "Store" tab. You may enable inventory control on this screen, or on a per-product basis using the "Inventory" tab on the "Products" screen. Adjust the "Ordered Item SKU Strategy" and "Sku Delimiter" settings as desired. "Ordered Item SKU Strategy" determines what the combined SKU of a product/option combination will include. The "SKU Delimiter" is the content placed between each sku in the product/option combination. You must adhere to this format later when you are entering "Combined SKUs" on the "Inventory" tab of the "Products" screen.
For each Product that you would like to have Dependent Options with inventory control per option:
1. Assuming that you already have options in your store, be sure that the Option Groups are sorted in such a way that each dependent option group appears later in the sort order than the Option Group(s) which it is dependent on.
2. To track inventory, each option should be given a SKU. Later, you will need to enter each "Combined SKU" using the "Inventory Control Tab" of the "Edit" > "Product" screen.
3. Go to the SearchFit Control Panel | "Products" Tab | "Products" screen. Locate the Product you wish to add Dependent Options to. Click the corresponding "Edit" link. You will be transferred to the "Edit Product" form.
Note: The configuration of dependent options must be done per Product and cannot be done via import.
4. Click the "Options" tab. You will be transferred to the "Options" tab of the "Edit Product" form.
5. Scroll down to the "Options" table. Locate the first Option within the within the first option group that should be made dependent and click the More button. The More menu will expand. Click the "Manage Dependency" option. The "Manage Option Dependency" panel will appear.
6. Click the "Add Set" button. A light blue bar will appear in the left column.
7. From the "Available Dependency Options" text area, click the Option(s) that are available for the Current Dependent Option.
8. Create additional Dependency Option Sets for the Current Size Option if necessary. To do so, click the "Add Set" button, then click another applicable option from the "Available Dependency Options" text area.
Note: On the "Manage Option Dependency Panel", if you "ctrl" + "click" an "Available Option Dependency", then an "And" type of rule is created. For example you could use this feature to create option logic like: The Dependent Option is available only if Option X AND Option Y are selected.
9. Go to the "Products" screen | "Inventory" tab. For each SKU corresponding to the current product, click the "New Combined SKU" link and add the SKU and inventory amount. The SKU format is determined by the "Ordered Item SKU Strategy" and "Sku Delimiter" settings on the "Store" tab of the "Configure Per User" screen. When inventory is enabled and at least one combined SKU is entered for the product then the ordering engine will check the combined SKU of the ordered product options against the inventory of the combined option SKUs. |
