Hey guys,

We really need a spell correction ("did you mean _") feature in the power search. A lot of our competitors have this standard feature in their search. I realize we can manually update products with common misspellings into the Searchable Keywords field, but this is not an option for our 5,000+ products.

How far away is this feature?

Tommy

We support this feature already.

For example search for mottors instead of motors.

Wow, I didn't even notice it... it is very tiny on our site - I will take this up with our rep, as we are in the process of redesign.

Using "mottors" as an example... this returns an empty search. When the search result is empty because of a misspelling, would it be possible to return the results for the assumed correct spelling in the case of a very close match?

Also, the "Most Popular Searches" with the words listed w/ different font sizes, etc. is not very attractive. What are our options for something different to be presented upon empty searches?

Thanks,
Tommy

Yes, you need to work with your designer, so they can style it to show the "Did you mean" in such a way that it is easy to notice.

Yes, we can think of an enhancement where we actually use the first suggested "Did you mean" and show the results of it, but I have to be careful about this, because there are times when there are many suggestions and selecting the 1st one does not make sense. We have to see about this one.

The "Most Popular Searches" is shown as a tag cloud, which is a common accepted way of representing more and less used tags (words or phrases). Read more about cloud tags at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tag_cloud
