Is there a way to add "medical supplies" to my home page url (www.thereliefshop.com) without negatively affecting the pagerank and page standing I already have in google?
Thanks,

To avoid losing your search engine ranking when renaming a page, you can "301 Redirect" the old page to the new.

I don't completely understand the question. What is the desired URL for your home page?
For example, is it: www.thereliefshopmedicalsupplies.com ? |

I am fishing for information -- the above would be too long. However, I now own reliefmedicalsupply.com.
This whole thought started because most of the medical supply companies that pull up on the first page of a google search for home medical supplies has the word medical in their name/url. It seems to make a difference, so I am trying to figure out a good way to add "medical" to my home page url without messing up the ranking I already have - _________________ The Relief Shop Medical Supplies - arthritic gloves, diabetic socks, infrared products, adult diapers, walking canes, walkers, wheelchairs and so much more. |

You should not change the home page of your website. It has to be called index or default.
Maybe you want to create some custom pages and name them appropriately. Or if you have some medical products then have the SEO tool pull the names of the products and use them as web page name... _________________ Stanley Stanev

hi:
I think its great that you have found a "targeted search term" realitive to your new URL....I'd say develop a website with that URL specific to what you've found in search term discovery...It will take ALOT of work but make sure everything is UNIQUE even down to Product Level.
pss.. that includes meta tags, landing pages, and product descriptions. Completely a new website. Lots of work but if the search traffic is there??????
Good Luck.
