| Is there a way to import product information without foreign ID in such a way that only updated will be performed (no new items will be added?) |

| The SearchFit import screen include the ability to update by SKU instead of Product Foreign ID. The setting for this is "Use SKU To Update By" and it as at the bottom of the "Import Records" form in the "Additional Configuration" section. Will this work for you? |

| I saw and tried using SKU but did not see a way to avoid creating new items. I wanted only to update existing items. |

| Does your import document contain new items? |

Yes and no.
Some of the items have options, you store them as base and option. The data I have combines the base and the options into one new item.
For example tshirt in size s m l, you call it tshirt with options, the data I have looks like tshirt-s tshirt-m etc. and created new products.
These are the same items but to the import they look like new items. |

It doesn't seem like the current system will support what you are doing.
I don't know of a setting or workaround that will allow you to only update products and not create new.
On the Import Records form, the only choices now for the "Import Action" setting are "Create/Update Records" and "Delete". It seems like you would need a new setting for "Update Only". |

Just to confirm, are you saying that you have an import file and you would like the import engine to process only those products that already exist and update them by the specified foreignId and disregard the rest? _________________ Stanley Stanev

Yes, using foreign ID or SKU (would be nice to use MPN as a key too for information coming from vendors if possible).
This should be UPDATE only (no additions) |

We might implement this in the comming v8.10.1
Once you notice next week that your cart is updated to v8.10.1 then check if the import supports the "Update Only Records" mode. _________________ Stanley Stanev
