|
|
Hello,
When setting up affiliate links, do the referral links only work when the customer clicks on the link from the affiliate's page, and then purchases the item immediately? What happens if they navigate away and then later make a purchase? Is there any way to make the link so that it can still give the referrer credit?
Also--- Does anyone have any experience with Share-A-Sale?
Thanks. _________________ www.sjcreationsinc.com |

Once the visitor goes to your store through the affiliate's page then he does not have to buy immediately. As soon as he goes back directly to your store from the same browser/computer in the next several months then SF will recognize him and the placed order will be "owned" by the referrer. _________________ Stanley Stanev

Can we provide links to the homepage for affiliates, any item purchased from the store would give credit? Or can we only pick specific products?
I tried setting up a test link and when I navigated away from the page and then added the item to my cart, it did not show up as an affiliate. When I add the item to my cart directly after clicking the affiliate link, the affiliate referral does show up. Any ideas why this did not work for me? _________________ www.sjcreationsinc.com |

You can provide links to the homepage (or any page) as soon as the SF engine that captures the affiliate requests is on the landing page.
By default, it is included, unless you have altered the template somehow.
Maybe you give specific examples for us to try? _________________ Stanley Stanev

I tried the 1st link from that affiliate test page. I did browse your store for a while and then after some time I tried to place an order just to see if the order will be associated with the affiliate. It looks like all worked just fine. See the uncompleted order of mine with number 331-100721 (you can delete it). _________________ Stanley Stanev

Thanks Stanley,
Not sure why it was not working before but glad to see that it's working now.
Thanks for the help,

The bottom line is that no matter what SF generated page you are making your landing page. As soon as you have the correct scart_affiliate_id=7 URL parameter then all should be working fine. _________________ Stanley Stanev
