Hello,

We are using Quickbooks to handle the orders, etc. When we opened the store just over a month ago, I had to alter the Searchfit export file for Quickbooks slightly. So it would work with our invoice formatting, and to include the payment details. It worked just fine for a few weeks. Recently we got an error on line 7 saying that we could not change the type. I checked it top to bottom and could not find any unusual issues. I even copied and pasted an previous, working copy of the header into the file without any luck.

The only way I was able to make it work, was to copy the entire content of the export, into a earlier, working file, and it went through. This however bought up another problem. The first payment record, which is on the bottom of the order, does not make it through the export process. It just gets left off and no errors are returned. All of the other orders goes in fine along with their respective payments, just not the "oldest" order in the file.

I'm not sure why this suddenly changed. We have been doing everything the same way as always. My best guess is that some invisible attribute of the file has changed between the newer and older exports at some point.

The Quickbooks Integration isn't ready, and I was advised not to use it; so the export is our only option at this point. Since this is a public forum, I cannot disclose the export files, but I can e-mail them to the devs upon request.

Thank you.

Hi,

There has not been a change to that functionality for months, so I am not sure how it started giving those problems when it was working just weeks ago for you.

Is it possible that you have a specific order that it fails for or it is for all of them now?

If the export looks the same as the one that was working before then is it possible that something in your QB changed?

Hello,

It fails on all of them. I do not believe the export file has changed since I formatted it. I compared it to a earlier copy and everything seems to be the same. Nothing has changed in our Quickbooks as far as I know.

The only thing that we are doing that MAY cause a issue is that we are deleting the orders that have already been exported from the file. It did not cause any issues when we did that for the first few weeks.

It'd be nice if we could specify which orders to export rather than pulling everything.

I'm wondering if there's some kind of limit on how many orders can be exported at once?

Thanks.

There is no limit on how many orders you can export.

My recommendation is that you don't delete the orders from SearchFit.

You can export a range of orders at any time. Just go to the Orders screen and select the "Search Orders" function. Notice that you can specify "From Order #" and "To Order #". Once you search for orders in that range then you can use the export function to export only those orders that you searched for.

Then next time you want to export, you just have to remember the last order number you exported and search for the new order range. You can can even go by date range...just see the search function.
