Hello,

We are working on setting up an affiliate program using Searchfit - Can someone tell me if they have had any success creating their own affiliate program, rather than joining something like Commision Junction or Share-a-Sale?

Do you recommend any good ways for finding potential affiliates?

Also, do you 1099 your affiliates? All of them or only if they generate a certain amount of commission?

Thanks, Elizabeth

http://www.idevdirect.com/idevaffiliate.php is not a bad solution and easy to integrated with SF.

As far as finding affiliates, several ways to that. Check what aff. program your competitior is using, check if he use text ads etc and do some google work to find his affiliates Smile.

Second, contact people in your market who are having infosites and are running adsense or any other money making stuff on it.

Thank you, Warrior.

So iDevAffiliate - It's basically a software to manage affiliates, is that right? What exactly are the benefits of using this software over just setting up the affiliates right in the SearchFit backend?

I don't really see us having an overwhelming number of affiliates when we first get started - would you still recommend using a service like this? Does it help in any way for affiliates to find us?

Thanks for the help!
Elizabeth

Nope, it won't help you find affiliates, it's just a platform you can use and it has far more possibilities compared with SF which is normal of course. Each has it's own speciality Surprised

I see, thanks. What do you mean that SF is "normal" - like do you think for someone just starting out it's a workable solution?

Never used SF but i don't think you can assign different commissions to different groups/people. It als have a very strong backend where affiliates can check their stats.

But if you just atart out i wouldn't worry too much about affiliates in the first place. Getting affiliates to work for you require a lot of time and energy Wink

SF provides some affiliates capabilities. For example, you can create unlimited users of type affiliate or seller. You can give them different commission, assign coupons to sellers, execute commission reports. Affiliates can have links to your store and all orders placed because of those links will be associated with the affiliate. Sellers can login to the checkout pages and sell to buyers. In general, SearchFit is not an affiliate system, but it provides some features on its own.
